The research group ‘Practices of Power and Interpersonal Relationships at Dynastic Centres (1500-1800)’, seated in the German Historical Institute in Paris, is pleased to introduce its blog. The group’s objective is the investigation of the interpersonal relationships that defined and shaped power structures at court. Hence, this blog project offers a space for the discussion of marriage, kinship, friendship, as well as patronage and concunbinage in a courtly context and in their relation to early modern practices of governance. We welcome the contribution and participation of scholars with related interests.
